Ballet Pop-up

Playful pliés to wake up your body and shake off mum brain fog

Plié Mama is an elegant one-off pop-up dance class created especially for mums and their babies, in collaboration with Ballet Nina. Whether your baby is snuggled in a carrier, held in your arms, or happily nearby, this session is designed to support connection — to your baby, your body, and your inner rhythm, while gently strengthening and stretching postpartum backs.

We're delighted to welcome Nina Rostron, our Principal Ballet Teacher, a qualified ISTD Cecchetti ballet teacher with over 15 years' experience teaching dance to all ages and abilities. Nina moved from London to Bondi in 2020, bringing her classical training to our Groove and Grow community. This is your chance to try a different style in a fun, warm and non-judgemental space — no perfect lines or pointed toes required.

Expect:

• Gentle pliés, tendus and barre-inspired movement to rebuild strength and posture

• Soft, flowing port de bras to open and stretch through the back and shoulders

• Ballet's focus and precision — great for the brain, and just the thing to help shake off mum brain fog

• A warm, supportive space for mamas at any stage, with your baby by your side

This class is suitable for all levels, with no ballet experience necessary. Pregnant mamas are also very welcome.
